GFS Member Exhibition 2010

Member Exhibition 2010, Member's Musings, will be the first juried exhibition exclusively dedicated to artwork by Members of Grounds For Sculpture.  This exhibition is meant to feature the inspirations, experiences and talent of our Members embodied in a wide range of media including painting, mixed-media and sculpture.  This exhibit, in the recently opened Education Gallery, continues the GFS Education Department mission of featuring art created by members of the community, participants in GFS workshops, and local and regional non-profit groups and organizations.

ELIGIBILITY

The Grounds For Sculpture Member Exhibition is open to current and new members.  Members employed by Grounds For Sculpture, who have exhibited at Grounds For Sculpture within the past three years, or have work in the collection are not eligible to participate.

This is a juried exhibition with three guest curators/jurors.  The jurors are Johanna Hutchison, Director of the International Sculpture Center, Liselot van der Heijden, Artist and Professor at The College of New Jersey, Lynn DeClemente, Adjunct Professor at the College of New Jersey and Registrar for The Sculpture Foundation.

Accepted works will be on display in the Education Gallery in the Visitor's Center.  All selected works must remain on view for the entire run of the exhibition.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Members may submit up to two works digitally for the non-refundable application fee of $20.  2-D, 3-D, and multi-media works will be accepted, however photograph will not be accepted for this exhibition.

Framed works must be no larger than 24 inches in any one direction.  Monumental-scale sculpture is not eligible.

Paintings should either be framed or have a finished edge.  All works on paper must be framed professionally behind plexi or glass, with a white, black, or natural wood frame.

Any work that does not meet these requirements will not be eligible for selection.

ENTRY PROCESS

Send up to two digital images to cely@groundsforsculpture.org.  Image files must be 300 dpi, no larger than 2MB.  Emails must include the following information

Sender's full name, address, phone number, and email.

  1. Membership Number
  2. Title and date of work
  3. Medium
  4. Dimensions
  5. Value (for insurance purposes)
  6. Credit Card # and expiration date (for the $20 entry fee)

Incomplete submissions will not be accepted.

Please remember that this gallery is family friendly and all work displayed must be suitable for young viewers.

INSURANCE

Once selected, works are insured for replacement value only from the time of delivery until the designated pickup date.  Grounds For Sculpture assumes no responsibility for works left after the pickup date.

REPRODUCTION RIGHTS

Grounds For Sculpture reserves the right to reproduce any entry for publicity purposes.

* Note: Submission of entries constitutes the Lender's acceptance of these terms and will be regarded as a binding contract.
